Monteriggioni

Located in the beautiful Tuscan region, Monteriggioni is a medieval village that will take your breath away. The village of Monteriggioni has been used as a location in several films and games, including Assassin’s Creed II. Surrounded by imposing walls one and a half kilometers long, the town offers a breathtaking setting. Walking along the walls of Monteriggioni is like taking a step back in time. At the top of the walls, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Chianti Valley surrounded by hills covered with vineyards and olive groves. The historic center of Monteriggioni is a jewel of medieval architecture: small cobbled streets, stone houses, the Devil’s Tower, and Piazza Roma. In the summer, the historic center of Monteriggioni hosts the famous medieval festival with jugglers, musicians, and costume parades. The castle was built in the 13th century and played an important role in the history of Tuscany, as evidenced by numerous events such as the Battle of Montaperti.
